Presenter:  Mr. David Gwisdalla

Mr. David Gwisdalla is a professional engineer and a LEED® Accredited professional with 12 years experience.  David has extensive experience supporting clients with permitting, developing, and executing their Industrial, Municipal and Construction stormwater management programs.  He is also the project manager for the creation of the US Air Force Air Combat Command’s Low Impact Development (LID) Tool Box, which will allow installations to evaluate the cost effectiveness of various LID strategies.  Prior to joining Tetra Tech, David was an active duty US Air Force civil engineer officer responsible for directing and executing environmental program management requirements. 

Presentation Overview:

 

A 4 hour course designed to update contractors on the latest methods of construction for compliance with the local building codes. Also included is a discussion on methods of meeting Florida’s energy code for residential construction.  This course meets CE requirement for business practices.

 

The goal of this course is to develop an individual’s understanding of the different codes, construction materials, terminology, and methods of installation and how it will affect their projects.

Specific Behavioral (Performance) Objectives:

            Upon completion of the course contractors should be able to:

·     Prepare their projects for inspection and identify the latest procedures and methods available to them.

·     Develop ideas for energy saving construction methods and get results needed.

·     Thoroughly understand the requirements of the latest code for specific trades with the confidence that will prepare them to make a better decision before and after construction.
